Feedback voice recommendations

Duolingo's public product writing consistently puts the answer first, keeps the immediate interaction small, offers explanation as a second layer, and makes the end of a session encouraging while still naming what needs practice. That pattern is useful here, but Bert's Atlas should keep an original travel-and-curiosity voice rather than imitate Duolingo's phrases.

Research basis:

Recommended original patterns:

  • Correct: “Flag filed. Nice work.”
  • Incorrect: “That was {answer}. Look for {short distinction}.”
  • Overtime: “Time's up. You still found it.”
  • Continent hint: “Map clue: {continent}.”
  • Choice hint: “Two decoys are leaving.”
  • Fact hint: “Bert's clue: {answer-safe fact}.”
  • Results: “Atlas packed: {score} points · {accuracy}%.”
  • Review: “Worth another look: {countries}.”
  • Streak: “{days} curious days in a row.”

Keep feedback to one idea per line. Name the correct answer after a miss, but never include it in a pre-answer clue. Avoid shame, exaggerated celebration, and claims that a streak proves mastery.
